STEM lab and Coding
In STEM lab we have been working on designing a trellis to finish up our unit on agriculture.
This week was week two of the Penny Raft Challenge. The students designed their raft, keeping in mind the goal is to hold the most pennies. Students then tested their raft up to 3 different times. Each time they were able to change a few things in their design to improve the raft's ability to hold pennies. Be sure to ask your child how they did!
We have also had a chance to break out the robots. These were purchased with the help of Worth Repeating last year from Wonder Workshop. The students are using the app "Blocky" to learn the basics. Each robot has been given a name. Our roster includes Pork Chop, Captain Jack, Larry, Dandy and Dot.
